Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the treatment of conditions or symptoms by the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body in order to produce a response.

Acupuncture uses needles to balance and restore the flow of Qi in the body. It affects all major physiological systems and works primarily through the central nervous system. Acupuncture does more than just relieve pain. Many of your pet’s symptoms – such as musculoskeletal, respiratory, gastro-intestinal, neurological and also some behavioral problems can be relieved through the use of acupuncture.

Acupuncture is indicated for problems such as paralysis, inflammation (such as allergies and arthritis), hormonal imbalances and behavior issues as well as to decrease pain. In addition, regular acupuncture treatment can support the healing of sports injuries and maintain optimal functioning of the musculoskeletal system. World-class professional and amateur athletes often use acupuncture as a routine part of their training. If your animals are involved in any athletic endeavor, such as racing, jumping, or showing, acupuncture can help them keep in top physical condition.
Acupuncture stimulates healing of some conditions, and provides effective pain relief in others. If properly applied, it may eliminate the need for surgery in certain conditions. Following surgery, it can improve the patients' comfort level and speed up the post-operative recovery period. In some cases, it may reduce or eliminate the need for chronic medication.
Most animals tolerate acupuncture really well and fall asleep during the treatment. For the wigglier individuals we can inject healing substances such as Vitamin B12 into acupoint to speed up the process.
