Meet Dr. Odette Suter
First and foremost the commitment I take on for all animals is to help them to restore their imbalances and prevent disease — before symptoms appear.
I don’t think of myself just as your pet’s vet. I think of myself as your partner and teacher in the learning process of understanding your furry friend’s health needs and in discovering how to best care for them.
I have over 25 years of holistic veterinary care experience.
In my office, as well as in my tele-health visits, I take time to get to know you and your pet. Our initial visit will rarely be less than an hour long and in addition to a physical exam, I’ll be asking you all kinds of nuanced questions about your pet’s daily life and life in your home.
You’ll leave our appointments with a greater understanding of your pet’s health, how you can support them, and clarity about what’s next in their healing journey.

Educational Events
“Doctor” means “teacher” in Latin. I’m as passionate about educating people on holistic care as I am about supporting my animal patients’ healing. Join me, and you’ll learn about the six pillars of health that are the cornerstones of longevity. You’ll also gain vital knowledge in areas as wide-ranging as animal biology, environmental health, the energetics of healing, and even some “behind-the-scenes” insights into how vets are trained, and how to work with them productively, and safely.

More About Me
With a twinkle in my eyes, I always tell people that I was born “weird” and continue to grow “weirder” .
I’m a holistic veterinarian, international best-selling author and lecturer, currently residing in the Chicago area. I received my degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Berne, Switzerland and a master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. I also studied Traditional Chinese Medicine at Emperor’s College in Santa Barbara and became certified in Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapy (Chiropractic Care) at The Healing Oasis in Wisconsin.
Even before I finished vet school, I wanted to move beyond the limitations of conventional medicine which addresses symptoms but often falls short at “true healing”. Thus began my studies into holistic and functional medicine where I learned Chinese Medicine, Veterinary Spinal Manipulation, Chiropractic Neurology, hormone balancing, Applied Kinesiology, NAET (allergy elimination), Animal Communication, Microbiome restorative therapy, nutrition, Acupuncture, and more.
